Virtual-reality injection training for nurses.

The problem

Current injection training methods are not reflective of all demographics.

This means when junior nurses practice on actual patients for the first time, they can struggle to see veins.

The Brief

“Design a product that improves the confidence of junior nurses when administering their first injections”.

In a survey of 30 nurses,

Concept Ideation and selection


Based on the survey responses, I generated a list of customer needs in order of priority. This was used to generate concepts that directly tackled those consumer needs.

This concept selection tree was made to narrow down the concepts and choose the final two which met the most criteria: a VR training device, and a vasodilation device.
